Lazy mornings call for deep thought and reflection accompanied with two cups of french vanilla coffee for moi.

This year I'm super excited to be apart of CollegeFashionista as a style guru for the fall semester! Details are to follow so be sure to check back in a week with an update on where to read my articles!

My Personal Style: Model Off Duty

August 2, 2015

Always wonder where KenJen, Gigi, Cara, and Karly get their model off duty looks? Well, I can tell you one thing -- they're designer and the jeans they wear to the super market are probably 1/3 of your rent! But no worries have no fear one day we will all be wearing $1000 jeans to the grocery store!

I like to think that my style is a hodgepodge of "model off duty" effortlessness, posh/chic-ness, and bohemian rhapsody but for this look there really is no need to break the bank. Don't get me wrong I love my brand names and my designer items but to look cute not everything you wear has to be designer. In this look I have one or two designer items that I didn't mind spending the money on because I knew they would make staples in my wardrobe.

The Deets:
Tee Shirt- Forever 21 -- come on folks no need to spend over $20 on a tee shirt, I got this one from Forever 21 and it does the trick
Jeans- H&M- they look super expensive but I promise they aren't, I maybe spent $40 on them
Shoes- Need Supply - This is a great shoe and for $85 they are worth the money, plus any good shoe under $100 is a steal in my book
Handbag- Rebecca Minkoff-- picked this bag up from Nordstrom, a little on the pricey side --this one I believe is in the $300-$400 range, but the great thing about this bag is that it looks just like a Balenciaga bag which normally goes for upwards of $1500
Sunglasses- Dior -- okay here's the splurge item- these babies were a little over $500 but if you're a sucker for some stylish sunnies that you know you will wear forever than hey what the hell!

The moral to the story is you shouldn't feel pressure to break the bank to pull of a celebrity inspired look - most times if you take a look into your closet you'll see that you already have some pieces that resemble the more expensive items that your fave celebs are wearing!

Well hello there! It's hard to believe that August is already here and the summer is almost over! In just 4 weeks I'll be headed back to NYC, which couldn't happen fast enough. Often times I have to tell myself to stop rushing the days by and sit back and enjoy the moment that I am in. In this day- with technology and social media, which don't get me wrong are great innovations of themselves - they often make us live in the future. What I mean by that is that we are always looking for what's next - what's going to happen tomorrow - hardly waiting for the next big thing to happen, that we forget to think about and live for what is happening right at this moment. I'm learning to take the moment for what it is and make it the best that I can. You should try it sometime.
