Dos Chicas // Dos Caminos

October 27, 2015

Dos Caminos Soho // Corner of West Broadway and West Houston Street

The Deets:
Chicken Tacos
Chicken Taco Bowl

If you like tacos and guac then you will like Dos Caminos, and if you like Tequila then you will really like Dos Caminos because their Tequila menu is ridiculous!

Went for the first time Sunday night with my long lost best friend from home... moral of the story is we will return even if it's just for dessert.

Book Club

The Deets:
Go Set A Watchman - Harper Lee
The Goldfinch- Donna Tartt
Lolita - Vladmir Nabokov
The Hobbit- J.R.R. Tolkien

I love them all, so I'm reading them all. Some for the second time some for the first. Mostly for pleasure none by obligation.
In the end, I recommend.

How I transform an outfit:
It's really all in the shoes!
Throw on a statement shoe and your good. I'm telling you its that easy.
Add a few accessories like a belt, sunnies, and/or  sweater or leather jacket (depending on the weather) and walk out the door.... KISS (keep it simple stupid)

Layering 101

THE DEETS:
Leather Moto: BLANK NYC- (Nordstrom)
Grey Moto Sweater- BCBG
Jean Jacket- American Eagle
Shearling Vest- Necessary Clothing

Point blank: it's cold outside but I'm not ready to commit to wool coats and scarves just yet!
Layering is how I manipulate my wardrobe to match the weather, it aint always easy but it works and it looks cute too, so mission accomplished.

Step 1: find your staple item that fits with all seasons (in this case it was my jean jacket and this grey lightweight moto sweater)
Step 2: pair it with your cold weather outerwear! ( i.e.: leather jacket or fur vest)

Voilà! A simple layered look that keeps you warm and away from the bulky wool coats

Wear it with jeans, dresses, skirts -- the world is your oyster my friend.

THE DEETS:
Juice: Sex Me Up Juice from Joe & The Juice on Prince St. in SoHo
Bag: MZ Wallace
Wallet: Louis Vuitton and Urban Outfitters
Sunglasses: Anthropologie
Art: @Cristinaguadalupegalvan //  Cristinaguadalupegalvan.com
She's awesome check her out, she makes these hand made glass letters and then assembles them into phrases... these are all song lyrics ($200 each) I love them and I couldn't help but stop and check them out when I saw them.

If you ain't walking in SoHo spending money you don't have on frivolous things like fresh juices, athletic leggings and macaroons then you're doing it wrong.

Eggs Benny with a side of Ricotta Pancakes

Oh look it's me.
I can say with full confidence that I have eaten enough this weekend to make up for the past week of running around like a maniac and actually forgetting that I need to feed myself to survive.
That's right my mum was in town this weekend! Bit of a spur of the moment trip but we made the most of it, as we usually do. Of course we brunched, we shopped, and we snapped a bunch of photos to make me look cool on snapchat.
I always say to my friends that my mum is way cooler than I am and at first they just laugh and say yea sure, but when they actually meet her the response I get is "yea you were right, she is a lot cooler than you"... gee thanks!
But besides the shopping and her guest appearances in my snapchats, she truly is my best friend. The ease of conversation and the truly hilarious anecdotes we share with one another of our experiences when the other isn't around are what make us the dream mother daughter team. It's totally fine to be jealous...we are the dream team but it's completely natural we can't help it.
Love you cheek!

I'll be dreaming about these pancakes tonight they were amaze balls

(**yes we call each other cheek, it's an inside joke and you're going to have to remain on the outside)

(Once again, my dry humor that really isn't humorous is coming out, if you don't get it... I'm sorry :/ )
